Youtube on the phone has become almost impossible to use spitting 2-3 ads as soon as you open a video and then in between.

Because they are now pushing for youtube pro I really felt the difference.

Without getting into the morality of whether I or anyone should either pay or see tha ads, etc…. everyone to their own.

I made a prototype that uses the same as other web browsers do and blocks js ads to execute at will on your phone.

This is iOS only, but implementing the same for Android is trivial.

You can download it and try it here: https://github.com/Isaac12x/yt

To run it locally build it with XCode, provision it + sign it, connect your phone to iPhone to your computer and click run.

Have fun.

P.S. There is more work to do as the goal of this was to load different JS to do things within youtube… but my time has been sucked with www.superwordly.com. Would get to it soon though so…Stay tuned!
